Addiction Specialized Counselling
Addiction counselling is a form of therapy designed to help individuals who are struggling with substance use disorders (such as alcohol, drugs, or prescription medication) or behavioral and process addictions (such as gambling, gaming, or internet use, shopping, sex/porn). The goal is to support recovery, improve coping skills, and address the emotional, psychological, and social factors contributing to addiction. Areas of support include understanding addiction and helping clients recognize the nature and impact of their addiction. Motivating change and encouraging readiness to quit and build commitment to recovery. Developing coping skills in learning healthy ways to manage stress, cravings, and triggers. Preventing relapse by building long-term strategies for maintaining sobriety or control. Rebuilding relationships trough repairing trust and communication with family, friends, and employers. Improving mental health by addressing co-occurring issues such as anxiety, depression, or trauma.
